Like any process, anal intercourse is actually a series of discrete phases, or stages. Writers may analyze these stages differently, but, before embarking upon a description of this, or any other sexual activity, the writer should identify which separate phases he or she sees as comprising the totality of the process and, of course, the sequence, or order, in which each phase occurs.nnI see anal intercourse as being comprised of these incidents, in this order:nn1. Approach (the penis is slid between the buttocks)nn2. Penetration (the penis impales the anus)nn3. Occupation and acquiescence (the penis fully enters the rectum, and the fluttering of the recipient's anus subsides)nn4. Fucking (self-explanatory)nn5. Ejaculation (self-explanatory)nn6. Withdrawal (the penis is removed from the rectum, usually trailing, or offering a final volley of, semen)nnNote: phases five and six can be reversed, so that the fucker withdraws before ejaculating.nnThere is more to describing anal intercourse than merely identifying its stages and their sequence of occurrence. Two characters are involved, whether they are both males, a male and a female, or a pair of females aided by one's use of a strap-on dildo: a giver, as it were, and a receiver. Each will feel different sensations, and each will feel different emotions, the giver taking a dominant, and the receiver a submissive, role, which will color their attitudes and sentiments.nnThe writer who includes the inner states of the characters, offering both perspectives (that of the impaler and the impaled) will write a much more highly charged and arousing description of anal intercourse than will the writer who neglects to do so, and, since the whole purpose or erotica is to arouse the reader, the writer, it goes without saying, should not ignore this means to provide additional stimulus. After all, as psychologists remind us, sex is as much, if not more, a matter of the mind as it is of the flesh.nnEach phase of the act can, and should, be the occasion to explore the characters' emotions as well as to describe their physical sensations. Although, for the sake of variety, the writer may change the emotional states that the characters feel with respect to each of the stages of anal intercourse that the writer has identified, it is important to describe the inner states of the characters as they participate in each stage of the act. For example, the impaler may feel emotions such as these:nn1. Approach: anticipationnn2. Penetration: empowermentnn3. Occupation and acquiescence: masterynn4.
