I met Carrie five years ago and we got married two years later. She had two kids from a previous relationship. A daughter, Nadine, who is now 20, and a son, Trent, who is now 18. Carrie was only 16 when Nadine was born. I'm seven years younger than Carrie which makes me only nine years older than Nadine.nnUntil recently, we lived a pretty typical middle-class family life. I definitely butted heads with the kids at times but overall we got along pretty well. Nadine moved in with her 22 year old boyfriend, Ethan, just over a year ago, and Trent is almost never home.nnEthan always seemed a little too confident to me but as he was smaller I just kind of attributed it to "small man's complex."
